To do a Lovewick Distance Date you’ll need a computer (ideally a laptop) with an Internet connection and any supplies or materials listed under the “What you’ll need” section for a given date. Any materials you need should be easy to grab at your local grocery store, Target, or Walmart. We want you spending time on your date, not stressing about how to get your materials!

Unlike YouTube, Lovewick Distance Dates are designed to be interactive for two people watching and following along with the video content (ex: show and tell, pauses for intimacy-building question prompts, friendly competition through long distance date night games), to have a romantic “more than friends” angle so it feels like a date and not like a class, to last a Goldilocks amount of time (30 minute date minimum, 90 minute maximum), and to require basic supplies, if any at all. Every date also comes in a private virtual date room, where either of you can play, pause, or rewind, and it’s automatically updated for your partner!

Lovewick Distance Dates were made by a small, passionate team of experience designers, therapists, creators, and engineers (the majority of whom have firsthand experience with long distance relationships), and it’s a product inspired by our own relationships as well as decades of research on relationship satisfaction and wellbeing. Our founder Ali studied Human Behavioral Biology at Stanford, Experience Design at the Royal College of Art, and has over 50M views on TikTok and IG for her research-based relationship advice. We’ve interviewed and partnered with dozens of diverse long distance couples to bring this product to life: military couples navigating deployments or remote assignments, couples separated for college or grad school, queer couples who met online while living in different cities, and so many more! We’re inspired by long distance love and want to help these relationships thrive.
