On Valentine’s Day 2024, Lovewick launched our new Distance Dates platform, on-demand and fully planned virtual activity dates designed to help long distance couples connect and make fun new memories, even when physically apart. We’ve been so fortunate to partner with incredible long distance content creators, Vanessa Mora and Mehrad Mazaheri, to spread the word and better support the long distance relationship community. Here’s a bit about their story and why they decided to partner with Lovewick!
How And Why Vanessa & Mehrad Started @ldrdate
Long-distance relationships (LDRs) have always been a challenge, but in today’s digital age, couples are finding innovative ways to bridge the gap. Vanessa and Mehrad met while working for the same company, but across the world from each other! Vanessa is in Canada, Mehrad in Iran, and what started as work calls developed into something more. For four years they’ve navigated a 12-hour time zone difference, and so they have a deep understanding of the struggles of a long distance relationship. They are exceptionally creative and dedicated to their relationship and have turned their experience into helping others in similar situations.
Together they created the social media account @LDRdate on Instagram and TikTok (short for long distance relationship date), where they share distance-friendly date ideas, inspiration, advice, and build a sense of community for other couples who are long distance.
How We Found Them & Their Lovewick Experience
We found them through a few of their viral Alphabet Dating videos, where they adapted the popular Alphabet Dating TikTok trend into dates that are distance-friendly. Alphabet Dating involves planning dates based on each letter of the alphabet, from “A” for art galleries to “Z” for zoo visits. Vanessa and Mehrad saw an opportunity to transform this concept into something that could transcend physical distance and work for people who are long distance dating. By finding and creating virtual versions of these dates, they showed couples that the limitations of geography do not hinder romance.
